Can cashew butter be used after the expiration date, from a sealed, unopened jar?

Here's what our cashew butter supplier advises:
Oh yes Cashew butter is very stable and will last well past an expiry date. Once open it is a good idea to refrigerate.

Thank you so much! I found a store selling it for very cheap as it's nearing the expiration date, so I was wondering if I can take advantage and stock up - I guess the answer is yes!
