See here http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info ... s/\n\nIron shots will work, but are painful. I've known some people who have had them and say they are worth it. Iron can be slowly raised by eating iron rich foods and *very importantly* vitamin c at the same time. Many people don't eat/ingest the iron at the same time as the vitamin C (juice, fruit, vegetable or supplement) and they can become low in iron from this. People may find a chelated iron supplement that they tolerate.

Hello! \n\nI found that even the SCD legal chelated iron really bugged my gut. On breakingthevicioscycle.info Elaine says to not take iron. I ended up getting IV iron, and the last time I got my blood taken my levels were up. Hope this helps! \n\n~Kyrie L.

Elaine okay-ed chelated iron, since it's gentle on the gut. However, if you find it bugs your gut, then definitely stay away.

sorry to hear that you are low, its a bummer. whenever I am low, I start eating a lot of dark meat chicken (baby chicken) and dark meat turkey. it usually raises it back up fairly quick. good luck

in the past 14 days, my Iron levels went from 39 to 171, just by eating a lot of dark meat chicken and turkey. (no supplements)!!!

I took iron infusions in new York Cornell through my IBD doctor. it kept me well for a good few months and the facility is amazing, no side effects. Please don't take any iron supplements as all IBD related patients do not absorb it anyway and it just makes a mess of your intestines!!!
