The truth about Instant coffee?

I looked into it and I found out that unflavored 100% instant coffee is 100% pure. So maybe someone could explain to me why it is illegal?

The truth about Instant coffee?

In the process to clean the coffee from caffeine the chemical 'ethyl acetate' is used to rinse the coffee. Almost no traces of it are left in the coffee. 'Ethyl acetate' is found naturally in many fruits such as pineapples, and sweet oranges. So I really don't think 100% decaf is a problem for our diet.

Only the water processed decaf is legal. \n\nAlthough ethyl acetate is found in fruits, that is a natural form. Ethyl acetate, (chemical form) is an irritant.\nThe ethyl acetate method decaf is not SCD legal.\n\nThere are a number of decaf coffee brands listed in the group files of the facebook group: 'Breaking the Vicious Cycle SCD Community'.

The truth about Instant coffee?

Very sorry, I was thinking of kcups. I am not a coffee drinker and the coffee lingo is not natural to me . Apparently some kcups, regular and decaf are legal. But, Kcups aren't instant coffee.\n\nYou are right - instant coffee, to my knowledge, is still illegal. \n\nI am not sure why. It may have been that Elaine was concerned about additions to coffee during the spray and freeze drying process that may be present in the final product.
