The açaí berry itself is not legal? Can you please elaborate because all this time I was under the impression that açaí was legal .

Reports I had seen said that acai is high in polysaccharides. Please allow us a few days to do some research on this, to see the types and percentages of polysaccharides. It may be that it is consumed when 'unripe' like an unripe banana or plantain or it may naturally be too high like a potato or maybe something else.

From what we have found, Acai berries are mostly seed: 85% of its weight is seed. Of the seed the major component is Mannan. Mannan appears to be a complex polysaccharide. I think it may be best to avoid the whole acai berries. Sounds like they may be complex in structure for SCDers.
