Hi, I am wondering if anyone knows if using Elderberry homemade syrup is alright to use for IBD patients using immunosuppressant drugs.

Yes, I would like to see what others have to say as well. I do plan though to speak with my daughter's GI doctor this week. I will let you know what he says.

Any updates on this thread? I would really like to know if IBD patients can take home made elderberry syrup and if it's SCD legal (if made with honey instead of sugar).

Hi I believe that Techinally anything is legal just as long you use the legal substitutes. I’m not sure exactly what elderberry is but if you use the legal subtitutes it shouldn’t be a problem. For example I make beef jerky and it requires sugar and other illegal products so instead of using the illegal sugar I’ll use legal honey. And same applies to any other product. Hope this helps!!!
