Travel and diet

How do you manage travel and your diet. I want to travel to another state for my granddaughter's graduation.

Travel and diet

It isn't easy, but it can be done. ;) I have been SCD since 1/08. My family etc will never understand why I prefer to stay home, but the past two summers we opted for just two nights at the shore with a quick car ride, as that took me 20 hours of prep and cooking. I do have chronic Lyme, so it's not just an SCD thing, but still, it takes a lot to go places for more than a couple of hours. To stay safe I NEVER eat out, or eat anything not prepared by me, in my safe kitchen ;)\nI can't have nuts, honey, etc etc etc etc , lol - so it is not an option for me, but I would think taking Digestive Wellness already made food etc would help.\nEileen\nHappy Healthy New Year to you and yours!!

Travel and diet

It depends on how I'm traveling. If by car then I can take a cooler take a few things, like yogurt, or premade food i can reheat. Hard boiled eggs are always nice, quick snacks to have around. Fresh fruit. I try to always have a fridge where I'm going to be staying. Salad bars at grocery stores are helpful. I sometimes just end up eating a lot of salads lol..not great. Eating out is not always a great option either depending on what's available, and i'm not great about asking what's in the food. I haven't tried this yet, but I know that rice cookers can steam veggies, and I think some people even cook meat in them, but having to bring all my own cooking utensils/supplies sounds like a whole new beast to deal with. Good luck, I hope you enjoy her graduation!
