Need Guidance and Advice

Hi,\nA family member has been on SCD for 2 years and has been symptom free. She would like to start introducing illegal foods slowly. Is there a doctor or professional who specializes in giving guidance through this process?\n\nPossibly is there any advice you recommend us?\n\nThanks so much

Need Guidance and Advice

Hi there! First off, Congrats!! I do know Rochelle who started Wellbee's, mentioned to me once, she went back, and got very ill - and is now on for life. Having said that, I am on 10 years in January, I don't see a need to really put illegal stuff back (but then I haven't been symptom free as it was Chronic Lyme that caused this, so I still fight daily to be well) - I am QUITE limited in foods - maybe 10 things I can eat. I have been trying myself to add a few more things in (that are allowed on SCD) - but stuff I was intolerant to in the past 10 years. \n I do have a Dr. I used in the past in NYC that knew SCD and was covered by insurance and then I know a great Alt med one also NYC , that doesn't take insurance. I don't know that you need a Dr. per se - and definitely not a nutritionist - we could run circles around them, and most dr,'s when it comes to the gut usually.\n I would go super slow, and keep a journal of BM, moods, physical pain etc - write it all down, and then rotate your new foods - there may be some you can handle but only every 5th day or more etc - if you have a reaction, wait a while - there is readjusting, and then there is your body is telling you it doesn't want it - can't tolerate it - and it's usually our favorites - and it may have to stay out a while oR indefinitely - gluten, dairy and sugar are usually the 3 main to avoid for all people's health .\nGood luck!\nEileen

Thank you for answering my questions. Can you give me the 2 phone numbers of the doctors you mentioned? I think it may be best to be under the care of a doctor. \n\nThank you so much
