FAQ - Banana in a store-bought item

Banana chips.... banana fruit bar... a bunch of times you'll find a fairly legal product that contains "banana" as an ingredient. Bananas are SCD legal, but not all bananas. Bananas need to be very ripe and have black spots on their skin. Unripe bananas contain starch and are not allowed on the diet. Since commercial suppliers will never work with these type of bananas (too difficult to slice etc), it is assumed that all commercial banana products contain "unripe" bananas, thus making them SCD illegal.
