My son has crohns, had surgery 4 years ago and has had no meds since his surgery. After his surgery, we followed the SCD diet strictly for 2 years, then introduced other items such as quinoa, sweet potatoes, oatmeal and rice but in moderation. Elaine's book has several good recipes, and also A Taste of Wellness Cookbook from Wellbees has great recipes and information. I still bake & use these recipes to date, and follow the diet most of the time. Lots of veggies, fruit, legumes, fish & chicken. My son does get an occasional stomach ache if he eats bread or cakes (non SCD legal), so he then just goes back to SCD until he feels better.
