I think my daughter's doctor gave her Protonix for an ulcer a while back. Your doctor's main issue probably is with the inflammation, not the ulcer, or the fact that an ulcer formed while on Remicade. Doctors don't usually switch patients to different biologics so fast because once you stop one, you can't always just go back onto it. If it were my son, I would go along with increasing the Remicade but you should ask the doctor to explain to you why it's so important to increase it. I would not switch to Stelara or any other biologics unless Remicade fails your son.
My daughter has been on Stelara for 5 years, after failing 3 different biologics. Stelara is formulated differently than Remicade and Humira and it works better on some people. But I would first give Remicade another chance since your son has been doing well on it.
