Iron supplements are generally heavy on the gut, and therefore, Elaine did not approve iron supplements. However, she made an exception with "chelated iron", since it's gentle on the gut. As mentioned before, iron can be slowly raised by eating iron rich foods and very importantly vitamin c at the same time.
The following foods are good sources of iron - SCD approved:
Beef (chuck roast, lean ground beef)
Leg of lamb
Beans (kidney, lima, Navy)
Try to combine iron foods with vitamin C (for example, a glass of orange juice) to increase absorption of iron.
