I made the above recipe!
-i didnt use any almonds, just because i had none.
-i used 5 tablespoons honey in place of sugar
-i used 1/4 tsp baking soda (or a bit more. It was a heaping, rounded spoonful)
It came out very good! It rose very nicely, the cake itself wasnt really that sweet but the cinnamon portion of it was excellent and that made the cake. The cinnamon part really covered the whole top, and dropped down in to the rest of the batter unevenly, so parts of the cake were kind of bland but the parts that got a lot of cinnamon batter mixed in were delicious. In the future, i would swirl the cinnamon part in more, like a marble cake, or maybe even double the cinnamon part.
Also, it took longer to bake-probably around an hour. But i would keep checking every few min so you get it as moist as possible and not overdone.
